Does Bark monitor photos and videos?
With Bark Premium, Bark can monitor images and videos on your child's:
This includes photos and videos stored on the device, as well as content sent and received through text messages, emails, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and some social media platforms. It also covers screenshots, camera photos, and downloaded content like saved memes.
Bark scans media for nudity, violence, and other inappropriate content, including text added on top of images. If something needs your attention, we'll send an alert via email, text, or in-app along with a copy of the content for your reference.
Exception: Images and videos containing child nudity are handled differently.
Can I see all of my child's photos and videos?
No. Bark doesn't give parents access to every photo and video. Instead, we send alerts when we detect issues like bullying, self-harm, or predatory behavior, along with a copy of the flagged content and recommended next steps. Here are some tips on how to talk to your child about Bark.
How quickly are photo and video alerts sent?
Alerts aren't instant because processing photos and videos takes time. Bark doesn't just scan the image or video itself. It also analyzes any accompanying text and audio for issues.
What do I do if I get an alert that says "This Image May Contain Child Nudity"?
When an image may contain nudity of a minor, we delete it from our servers and show a blank placeholder in the alert. To evaluate the situation, check your child's device directly and take next steps from there.
