Not getting alerts for kid's texts, photos, or videos

Fix issues with monitoring your child's device monitoring.

Bark Premium keeps an eye on your child’s texts, photos, and videos (think of it as the device layer) and their online accounts like YouTube (think of it as the account layer).

Sometimes, the device layer might lose connection while the account layer is still working fine. This could mean you're getting YouTube alerts but not getting alerts about your child’s text messages.

If you’re not receiving alerts for texts, photos, or videos, follow these steps:

  1. Open up your parent app / dashboard.

  2. Tap your child's profile.

  3. Tap Devices at the top.

  4. Review the device status:

    1. ❗ Not reporting to Bark

    2. ✅ Reporting to Bark

  5. Tap on the device for more information on what's monitored and for instructions on getting device monitoring back on track.
    ​

  6. Give it some time. If you've fixed it, Bark will start scanning your child’s device again. It might take a little while for the system to catch up. Alerts about potential dangers in your child’s texts, photos, or videos may not be immediate, but they’ll come through soon.
