Transfer contacts, photos, videos, and documents to a new phone

Back up or import pictures and documents

There are a ton of free online cloud storage platforms out there that can be used to back up photos, videos, and other files on both iPhones and Androids. Learn how to back up files on these popular platforms:

The Bark Phone comes with 32GB of internal memory storage (not including the storage taken up by the system). However, if you'd like to add more storage, you can add an SD card to the device.

If that SD card already has your photos, videos, contacts, etc., it can be easy to access that data on the phone.

How to add an SD card to a Bark Phone

This method requires a Windows or Mac computer and the charging cable for the child's Android phone.

Windows Mac

Windows

  1. Turn on the Android phone or tablet you'd like to copy files from.
  2. Plug one end of the charging cable into the phone and the other end into an available port on the Windows computer.

  3. To place the device into the correct USB mode, swipe down from the Notification bar, then tap on the notification about USB, and enable Transferring files / Android Auto.

  4. On your PC, click on File Explorer and then on This PC.

  5. Find the child's newly connected device from the list of drives, then navigate to the desired folder(s).

  6. You can now copy or transfer files (including photos and videos) to and from the phone and computer.

Back up or import your Play Store apps

If your kid is switching from Android to Android, they can easily transfer over their apps to the new phone with these steps: 

  1. On your kid's Android phone or tablet, open play Google Play Store.
  2. If prompted, sign in with your kid's Google account.
    Trouble signing in? Take care of it with this guide.
  3. On the right, tap the circle-user-solid.svg profile icon.
  4. Tap Manage apps & device > Manage.
  5. Select the apps you want to install or turn on.
    Can't find an app? At the top, tap Installed and then Not installed.
  6. Tap Install or Enable.
