In the meantime, here’s how to check these settings on your kid's Android.
Find your kid's Android version
On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
Tap on the 🔍 magnifying glass to search.
Search for About phone.
Tap on the result.
Look for the Android version. Then, look for the matching instructions below:
Adjust battery settings on your kid's Android
Android 14+
On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
Tap Apps.
Tap App battery usage.
Tap Bark.
Enter a device code when prompted.
Tap Allow background usage.
Lastly, check data saver settings.
Android 13
On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
Tap Apps.
Tap App battery usage.
Tap Bark.
Enter a device code when prompted.
Tap Unrestricted.
Lastly, check data saver settings.
Android 12
On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
Tap Apps.
Tap All Apps.
Tap Bark.
Enter a device code when prompted.
Tap Battery.
Tap Unrestricted.
Lastly, check data saver settings.
Android 10-11
On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
Tap Apps & Notifications.
Tap Advanced.
Tap Special app access.
Tap Battery optimization.
Tap the dropdown menu v at the top then tap All apps.
Tap Bark.
Tap Don't optimize.
Tap Done.
Lastly, check data saver settings.
Android 9
On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
Tap Apps (or "Apps & Notifications").
Tap Special app access (may be under "Advanced").
Tap Battery optimization.
Tap the dropdown menu v at the top then tap All apps.
Scroll down and toggle off Bark.
Lastly, check data saver settings.
Android 6-8
On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
Tap Battery.
Tap three dots (...) on the top right.
Tap Battery Optimization (or "Optimize Battery usage").
Tap the dropdown menu v at the top then tap All Apps.
Scroll down and tap Bark.
Tap Don’t Optimize.
Tap Done.
Lastly, check data saver settings.
