How to pause the internet for a child

Need to stop all internet access on a kid's devices but still allow them access to phone calls and text messages in the event of an emergency? Bark created the Pause feature for use in those times!

1. If you haven't already, set up screen time controls on your kid's device(s).
2. Then, open up your parent app / dashboard.
3. Tap on your kid's avatar at the top.
4. Tap the small circle over their avatar.
   
5. Schedule how long the pause lasts or turn it on indefinitely.
6. Wait a few minutes for changes to take effect.
   
7. Now, internet access for all apps and websites will be paused on your kid's devices, while still allowing cellular text messages (SMS) and phone calls for emergencies.
   Note: The Bark Phone's pause feature will also block text messages (learn more).

How to resume the internet for a child

To undo the pause...

1. Open up your parent app / dashboard.
2. Tap on your kid's avatar at the top.
3. Tap the small circle over their avatar.
4. Wait a few minutes for changes to take effect. Your kid can also restart their device to speed that along.
5. Now, the internet is back! Remember to double check the apps and sites you've blocked for your kid in case you need to make any new adjustments.

How to pause the internet for a Bark Home profile

1. Open up your parent app / dashboard.
2. Tap on Bark Home at the top.
3. Tap on the applicable home profile.
4. Tap on the small circle over the avatar.

How to pause the internet for all Bark Home profiles

1. Open up your parent app / dashboard.
2. Tap on Bark Home at the top.
3. Tap on the Bark Home.
   
4. Tap on Pause all.
   
5. Wait a few minutes for changes to take effect.
6. This will pause the internet on all profiles on your account, as well as pause the internet on all devices connected to your home Wi-Fi. Only ignored devices will continue to have unfiltered internet access.
