We built Bark to help families work with their children to stay safe online and we are excited to provide that service with our notifications!

We can notify you over email, push, or text if there is an issue.

How do notifications work?

Get insights into their world

Bark alerts you if there's a potential issue, such as bullying, depression, or sexting (among other concerns) in your child's social activities.

You can conveniently keep track of alerts for your kids from our dashboard / app.

Cut through the noise

Bark can block hundreds of sites in a short period of time. To avoid overwhelming you with every single blocked website or app, we only send notifications about blocked porn sites.

Don't worry, you can still check out the Insights tile in your dashboard / app for information on other types of blocked sites.

Tackle digital safety together

Our alerts are meant to be used as an opportunity to connect, teach, and grow. Get tips on having difficult but important conversations with your kids.

To ensure that you never miss an alert, you also have the option to add additional email addresses and phone numbers, including those of your spouse.

How do I view my notification settings?

  1. Log into your Bark dashboard or app.
  2. Click on the v menu (computer) or the ≡ More menu (mobile).
  3. Tap on Alert Settings.

What does an alert look like?

If our system finds something that needs your attention, you and your notification contacts will receive an alert along with a snippet of the conversation for your review.

Find an Alert

Whether on a computer or on mobile, you can use the sorting filters at the top of your Alerts to sort by child, platform, and more.

Adjust the Sensitivity of Alerts

There are times when you don't want to be alerted every time your child or their friends use profanity or discuss weapons in video games. You can adjust alert sensitivity settings per child to help with this!

Don't worry, you'll always get alerts on the most severe issues (like imminent threat of harm to a child).
