Google Play app downloads and updates stuck "pending" or "Waiting for Wi-Fi"

The Google Play Store app is used to download apps on Android devices like the Bark Phone. Sometimes, Google gets stuck trying to download apps, but it's a super easy fix!

  1. On your kid's device, slide your finger down from the top of the screen.
  2. Make sure Mobile Data is enabled and if possible, Wi-Fi is enabled.

  3. Then, see if the issue is resolved in the Play Store app. Remember, it may take some time for the app store to install all of your pending app downloads and updates.

App still stuck "pending" or "Waiting for Wi-Fi"?

  1. On your kid's device, open the ⚙ Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Enter a device code, if prompted.
  4. Tap Google Play Store.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Tap Clear data.
  7. Tap < back to the settings that show a list of apps.
  8. Tap Google Play Services
  9. Tap Storage.
  10. Tap Clear cache.
  11. Then, go back to the home screen and open the play store icon.png Play Store app. The issue should be resolved!

Still having the issue?

  1. On your kid's Bark Phone, open the ⚙ Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Enter a device code, if prompted.
  4. Tap Google Play Store.
  5. Tap the three dots on the top right.
  6. Tap Uninstall Updates.
  7. Restart the Bark Phone.
  8. Open the play store icon.png Play Store app. The issue should be resolved!
