Can't find an app in the Google Play Store of the Bark Phone

If you see 'Parental controls restrict downloading of this app,' Google Play parental controls are turned on and need to be disabled.

If your child searches for an app and only sees a "kids" version or gets the message "Parental controls restrict downloading of this app," Google Play parental controls are enabled on the device. These are managed by Google, not Bark.

You can turn them off using the steps below. You'll still be able to manage app approval from your Bark parent app.

Turn off Google Play parental controls

  1. On the Bark Phone, open the Google Play icon Google Play Store app.

  2. Tap the profile icon in the top right.

  3. Tap Settings.

  4. Tap Family.

  5. Tap Parental controls.

Note: You can't sign into Google Play with a Google account supervised by Google Family Link. Learn more.
