My kid's computer isn't blocking websites and apps

Computers are filtered through Bark Home — make sure the device is identified, assigned, and has Secure DNS turned off.

If your child's Mac or Windows computer isn't blocking websites and apps, check the following:

  1. Make sure you've identified the computer and assigned it to your child's profile.

  2. Check that you've set the correct rules in your child's screen time settings and haven't accidentally allowed access to everything.

  3. Turn off Secure DNS in the browser settings — this can prevent Bark from detecting which websites are being visited.

  4. On Windows 10 and later: turn off the randomized MAC address setting.

  5. Restart your child's computer.
