Can't find an app in the Google Play Store of the Bark Phone

The Google Play Store is the app store on the Bark Phone. If your kid searches for an app and only sees the "kids" version or gets the message "Parental controls restrict downloading of this app," it means you've set parental controls on Google Play.

These controls are managed by Google, not Bark. Turn them off if you need your kid to download those apps. You can still manage app approval from your Bark parent app / dashboard.

Remove Google Play Parental Controls

  1. On your kid's device, open the Google Play Google Play app.
  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Family.
  5. Tap Parental controls.
  6. Turn them off.

If you see something about Family Link in there, then we need to make adjustments on your Family Link Parent App instead:

  1. On your parent device, open the Family Link Family Link app.
  2. Select your kid.
  3. Tap Controls.
  4. Tap Content restrictions.
  5. Tap Google Play.
  6. Turn them off.

Note that if you're trying to sign into Google Play on a Bark Phone, you can't do it with a Google account that is supervised by Google Family Link.
