In our Android setup instructions, we show you how to install the

Bark Kids app by allowing apps from "unknown sources" in your kid's phone settings.

If you use Family Link, you also have to adjust the "unknown sources" setting inside of your Family Link parent app. Here's how to do it!


Allow "Apps from unknown sources" in Family Link app

  1. Open the

    family link logo.png

    Family Link parent app on your phone.

  2. Select your child's profile.

  3. Scroll down and tap Signed-in devices.

  4. Tap on the device in question.

  5. Turn ON Apps from unknown sources.

  6. Turn OFF Developer Options and Add/Remove User:

My app doesn't look like that

If your Family Link parent app does not look like the options above, let's try this:

  1. Open up a web browser on your parent device.

  2. Navigate to g.co/yourfamily.

  3. Log in as the family supervisor if prompted.

  4. Select your child's name.

  5. Tap Go to Family Link.

  6. Scroll down to Signed-in devices and select the applicable device:

  7. Turn ON Apps from unknown sources.

  8. Turn OFF Developer Options and Add/Remove User:
