Find your kid's Android version
- On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
- Tap on the 🔍 magnifying glass to search.
- Search for About phone.
- Tap on the result.
- Look for the Android version. Then, look for the matching instructions below:
Adjust data saver settings on your kid's Android
Android 8+
- On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
- Tap Apps (or "Apps & Notifications").
- Tap Special app access (may be under "Advanced").
- Tap Unrestricted data.
- Enter a device code when prompted.
- Toggle on Bark.
- Lastly, check battery optimization settings.
Android 7
- On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap Bark.
- Enter a device code when prompted.
- Tap Data usage.
- Toggle on Background data.
- Toggle on Unrestricted data usage.
- Lastly, check battery optimization settings.
Android 6
- On your kid's Android, open the ⚙ Settings app.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap Bark.
- Enter a device code when prompted.
- Tap Data usage.
- Toggle off Restrict app background data.
- Lastly, check battery optimization settings.
Samsung
- On your kid's Samsung, open the ⚙ Settings app.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap Data usage.
- Tap Data saver.
- Tap Allowed to use data while Data saver is on.
- Enable the slider next to Bark:
