Heart rate is how fast the heart beats, counted in beats per minute. The Samsung model checks it with the sensor on the back of the watch.
Do not look straight into the sensor lights on the back of the watch, as it could impair your vision.
How to check heart rate
From the watch face, swipe up to open the Apps screen.
Tap
Samsung Health.
Tap Heart rate. The watch takes a reading. Swipe up or down to see more.
💡 Heart rate readings may not be accurate for children. Samsung Health is for wellness and fitness only, not for medical use, so do not use it to make health decisions.
Set how often the watch checks
From the watch face, swipe up to open the Apps screen.
Tap
Samsung Health, then tap Heart rate.
Tap Settings.
Under Measurement, pick one:
Measure continuously: the watch checks all the time.
Every 10 mins: the watch checks every 10 minutes while your child is resting.
Manual only: the watch checks only when your child taps Measure.
Tips for a better reading
Wear the watch snug, about a finger's width above the wrist bone.
Sit still and stay quiet. Moving, talking, yawning, or breathing deeply can throw off the reading.
In cold weather, keep the wrist warm, since cold can affect the reading.
