Error: "Sync not found" during setup

How to fix the error "Sync not found" during setup.

When setting up the Bark Sync for the first time, the Bark Kids app looks for the device when it's plugged in with the included Bark cable. If you see the "Sync not found" error, follow these steps to fix it!

  1. 🛑 Make sure the Bark Sync is not plugged into your child's iPhone or iPad yet.

  2. Open the Bark Kids app and log in with a device code. Allow all permissions when asked.

  3. Tap the Sync tab, then tap Add Bark Sync.

  4. Plug the Bark Sync into an outlet. Wait for it to have blinking blue LED lights.

  5. Then connect your child's iPhone or iPad to the Bark Sync using the included cable — look for the Bark logos on the ends.

  6. When a Local Network pop-up appears on the child's iOS device, tap Allow.

  1. Don't see that pop-up? No problem — here's another way to turn it on:

    • Open the Settings app.

    • Tap Privacy & Security.

    • Scroll down and tap Local Network.

    • Turn on the toggle next to Bark.

  2. Go back to the Bark Kids app and tap Sync. It should find your Bark Sync this time!

  3. Follow the rest of the setup instructions to finish.
