If the Bark Sync can't detect your child's iOS device when the screen is locked, you may be seeing a message on the lock screen that says "Unlock iPhone or iPad to use accessories". It's a quick fix! You just need to adjust the USB or Wired Accessories setting.
iOS 26 and later
On your child's iOS device, open the Settings app.
Tap Privacy & Security.
Scroll down and tap Wired Accessories.
Set to Always Allow.
Unplug the iOS device from the Bark Sync.
Plug it back in. It should now be able to do scans even when the screen is turned off or locked!
iOS 18 and earlier
On your child's iOS device, open the Settings app.
Tap Touch/Face ID and Passcode.
Under Allow Access When Locked, allow Accessories.
Unplug the iOS device from the Bark Sync.
Plug it back in. It should now be able to do scans even when the screen is turned off or locked!
