How to Connect an AOL Email Account

You'll need to generate an app password in AOL's account settings before connecting to Bark.

Bark can monitor emails and attachments on connected AOL accounts. If we find a potential issue, you'll get an alert for things like bullying, sexual content, violence, and risky platforms your child signed up for with this email.

  1. Log in to your child's AOL account.

  2. Click Options in the top right, then select Account Info.

  3. Click Account Security on the left.

  4. Click Generate app password or Generate and manage app passwords.

  5. In the pop-up, enter Bark as the name and click Generate Password.

Seeing "Sorry, this feature is not available right now"? This is a known issue that AOL and Yahoo experience from time to time. Try again in a few days and send them feedback.

  6. Click Copy next to the password.

  7. Paste the password into the Bark password field when connecting your AOL account.

  8. 🎉 You're all set! Your child's AOL email will appear on their profile page alongside their other monitored accounts.
