Bark's monitoring service scans emails, chats, files, and web browsers for serious issues like suicidal thoughts, threats, bullying, and sexual content. It can distinguish between harmless content, like health homework, and real risks. A super admin can update these settings at any time.
Tips for adjusting sensitivity
Start with All, then switch to Severe if you're getting too many minor alerts.
Some alert types only offer All or None since they're binary in nature. For example, a weapon is either present or it isn't, and profanity is either used or it isn't. If you find these alerts too minor, you can disable them and still receive alerts for severe issues like immediate threats, even when they involve weapons or profanity.
Work with your reviewer team to set alert preferences, since they know which information is most useful to them.
How to adjust alert sensitivity
Log in as the Bark for Schools super admin for your account.
Access your school's Monitoring Settings via the menu on the top right.
Select Edit.
On this page, you can adjust the dropdown menu next to each alert type. These changes will apply to monitoring going forward.
