How to Adjust the Sensitivity of Alerts

Students use their school-issued accounts for more than just homework. Our monitoring service scans emails, chats, files, and web browsers for signs of serious issues like Suicidal ideation, Threats of violence, Bullying, Sexual content, and more.

Important Information and Best Practices

  • We suggest working with your reviewer team when deciding your alert settings. Since they will be reviewing the alerts they likely will have an idea of what information they would like to see.

  • Alert settings can be changed at any time in the future (by a super admin) and you are not locked into your original configuration.
    • This does mean if you decide to receive alerts for profanity and down the line you decide alerts for profanity aren't as important to your team, you will be able to turn off that category.

  • Setting an abuse type to “None” does not turn off monitoring for that abuse type. We will still monitor for that abuse type, but we will only flag it for review if it is combined with other abuse types.

  • You will only receive email notifications for severe alerts.

  • Lower level alerts will be added to your dashboard for you to review whenever you have time.

  • We suggest reviewing your dashboard daily to avoid missing important alerts.
