Bark Phone rule changes are slow to update

If you've adjusted a rule and it’s not taking effect on your kid’s device within a few minutes, there are couple of reasons this may be happening: 

  • The Bark Phone has a poor internet connection
    If the cellular service or Wi-Fi connection is spotty, it can take longer than normal to receive the app approval, for example.
  • Bark permissions were disconnected
    If an important setting is disabled, this may affect Bark's ability to apply a new rule to the phone. You can fix this by following this guide.
  • Your account time zone is incorrect
    Double-check you've set your time zone in your account settings.
  • Airplane Mode is turned on
    If the phone isn't connected to the internet, it can't get the rules you've made on your parent dashboard. Make sure the Bark Phone has Airplane Mode disabled. Consider preventing them from using Airplane Mode unless they're traveling by plane.
  • The device was factory reset incorrectly
    Factory resetting the Bark Phone can cause unexpected issues and may prevent rules from updating properly. If you've already reset the device, please contact us for assistance.
