A screen lock asks for a PIN or pattern before the watch can be used. It's turned off by default.
💡 Before your start: Set the screen lock up together with your child, and save the code right away, such as in the notes app on your phone. If the code is forgotten, there's no way to reset it, and the watch will need to be replaced.
How to set a screen lock
From the watch face, swipe up to open the Apps screen.
Tap Settings.
Tap Security and privacy, then tap Lock type.
Choose one:
Pattern: draw a pattern that connects four or more dots.
PIN: enter a PIN made of numbers.
Follow the prompts to confirm the code.
Save the code in your phone's notes or another safe place before you hand the watch back.
How unlocking works
When the lock is on, the watch asks for the code when your child starts using it.
Once your child unlocks it while wearing it, the watch stays unlocked until they take it off. Putting it back on asks for the code again.
The watch also asks for the code every time it's turned back on or restarted.
If your child forgets the code
The watch's factory reset is turned off for tamper protection, so a forgotten code can't be reset.
Try every PIN or pattern you and your child might have used
After 5 wrong tries, the watch makes you wait 30 seconds before trying again. After 10 wrong tries, the wait increases with each attempt.
