How to Turn On / Off Organizational Units or Groups

The Bark for Schools app is installed at the domain level, but you control which organizational units or groups are actually monitored.

During first-time setup, you'll install the Bark for Schools app at your domain's top level and grant broad access. While this permission is required, Bark won't monitor all accounts by default — you choose which organizational units or groups to monitor from your Bark for Schools dashboard.

  1. Log in as a Bark for Schools super admin.

  2. Access your school's Monitoring Settings via the menu on the top right.

  3. All organizational units/groups are toggled off by default. Toggle them on to monitor that group's emails and documents. Keep in mind:

    • Turning on top-level groups will not automatically switch on sub-groups, meaning each unit needs to be turned on individually.

    • OUs added or removed in Google Workspace may take up to 24 hours to reflect in the OUs Bark displays.
