The steps vary slightly based on your Windows version.
Windows 10 and 11
- Open the
Start menu.
- Select ⚙ Settings on the left.
- Choose System.
- Select Power & Sleep on the left.
- Scroll down to Sleep.
- Set the drop-down menu for both options shown below to be 5 hours or Never.

For more power-saving options, select Additional power settings to change how your device uses power.
Can I still turn off the display? Yes, only Sleep, Hibernation, or Shut Down states will stop the automatic analyses from occurring.
Windows 7 and 8
- Open the Control Panel from your Start menu.
- Click Hardware and Sound.
- Click Power options or Change power-saving settings.
- Click Change Plan settings.
- Select 5 hours or Never.
On a laptop? Do this for both On Battery and Plugged In. - Click on Save changes.
- For more power-saving options, click on Change advanced power settings.

You can also adjust what happens when you close the lid, so that it does not go to sleep!

Right-click on the battery icon on the taskbar and then click Power Options.
- Click Choose what closing the lid does on the left.
- Under When I close the lid, select Do nothing for both On battery and Plugged in options.
- Click Save changes.
- Now if you close the laptop lid, it won't put the Bark Desktop App to sleep, meaning your child's iPhone or iPad can be analyzed more often. Success! 🎉
