Install or Update Bark on Androids Supervised with Family Link

If you use Google Family Link, you'll need to allow apps from unknown sources inside the Family Link app before installing Bark.

Our Android setup guide walks you through installing the bark_kids_app.png Bark Kids app by allowing apps from unknown sources in your child's phone settings. If you use Family Link, you also need to adjust this setting inside the Family Link parent app.

Allow apps from unknown sources in the Family Link app

  1. Open the family link logo.png Family Link parent app on your phone.

  2. Select your child's profile.

  3. Scroll down and tap Signed-in devices.

  4. Tap the device you're setting up.

  5. Turn ON Apps from unknown sources.

  6. Turn OFF Developer Options and Add/Remove User:

My app doesn't look like that

If your Family Link app looks different, try this instead:

  1. Open up a web browser on your parent device.

  2. Log in as the family supervisor if prompted.

  3. Select your child's name.

  4. Tap Go to Family Link.

  5. Scroll down to Signed-in devices and select the device:

  6. Turn ON Apps from unknown sources.

  7. Turn OFF Developer Options and Add/Remove User:
