If location tracking, location alerts, or check-ins are showing your child's location as farther away than they actually are, let's check their location settings. Many of these location settings are enabled by default on a Bark Watch, but they may need some fine-tuning.
- Open up your parent app / dashboard.
- Tap on the Bark Watch tile.
- Tap Settings and enable it — this will allow the settings app to be used on your child’s Bark Watch for these steps.
- Now grab your kid's Bark Watch.
- Short-press the top side button to open the home screen.
- Slide your finger down from the top of the screen to open the quick access menu.
- Verify that Mobile Data is turned on:
- If near a Wi-Fi network, long-press on Wi-Fi to connect to it. Otherwise, skip this step.
- Next, check the cell reception on the top right. In areas with low reception, location services may take longer to update.
-
Press and hold the top side button to restart the watch.
- Wait a few minutes.
- Refresh the map on your parent app / dashboard over the next day or two. You should see improvements to the location accuracy! If you're still running into trouble, reach out to us with details of the problem. Pictures or videos always help!
