Update Apple Software on Windows

Get Apple drivers updated to monitor iOS devices with the computer method.

If you see a prompt asking you to install or update Apple Device Support on Windows, go ahead and do so. This software is required for Bark to monitor your child's iOS device on a Windows computer.

Quick Troubleshooting

  1. Select the link in the message or in the alert to install the update.

  2. After the update(s) complete, restart your computer.

  3. Getting the same error message or alert? You may have installed an incompatible version of iTunes. Uninstall it by following the detailed troubleshooting steps below.

Detailed Troubleshooting

These steps vary slightly based on your version of Windows.

Windows 10/11

  1. Click Windows 11 icon Start and then on ⚙ Settings.

  2. Select Apps and Features on the left.

  3. Uninstall iTunes.

  4. Uninstall Apple Software Update (if present).

  5. Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (if present).

  6. Uninstall Bonjour (if present).

  7. Uninstall Apple Application Support (if present).

  8. Uninstall iPod Support (if present).

  9. Restart your computer. This helps the PC remove all components.

  10. Download 64-bit iTunes (most common) or 32-bit iTunes (least common)

  11. Install the correct iTunes app.

"Your PC's settings only let it install verified apps from the Store"

Click on Open settings and select the option where you can download applications from Anywhere.

"Microsoft recommends installing this app from the Microsoft Store"

Click on Continue installing from outside the Store.

Windows 7/8

  1. Click Windows 8 icon Start and find the Control Panel.

  2. Click Uninstall a Program.

  3. Uninstall iTunes.

  4. Uninstall Apple Software Update (if present).

  5. Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (if present).

  6. Uninstall Bonjour (if present).

  7. Uninstall Apple Application Support (if present).

  8. Uninstall iPod Support (if present).
