Sleep setting instructions vary slightly depending on your version of Windows, and laptop users have an additional step for managing lid-close behavior. Select your setup below.

Open the Start menu.
Select ⚙ Settings.
Select System.
Select Power & Sleep on the left.
Scroll down to Sleep.
Set the drop-down menus to 5 hours or Never.
For more options, select Additional power settings.
Can I still turn off the display? Yes. Only Sleep, Hibernation, or Shut Down will stop automatic scans from running.

Open the Control Panel from your Start menu.
Click Hardware and Sound.
Click Power options or Change power-saving settings.
Click Change Plan settings.
Select 5 hours or Never.
On a laptop? Do this for both On Battery and Plugged In.
Click on Save changes.
For more power-saving options, click on Change advanced power settings.
Can I still turn off the display? Yes, only Sleep, Hibernation, or Shut Down states will stop the automatic analyses from occurring.

You can also adjust what happens when you close the lid so the computer doesn't go to sleep:
Right-click on the battery icon on the taskbar and then click Power Options.
Click Choose what closing the lid does on the left.
Under When I close the lid, select Do nothing for both On battery and Plugged in options.
Click Save changes.
Now when you close the lid, the Bark Desktop App will keep running and your child's device can be scanned more often.
