How to do a Bark account health check

Make sure your family's accounts and devices are covered.

1. Setup Checklist

Bark provides a setup checklist for all the ways your family can get the most out of Bark, like setting up monitoring, screen time and web filtering, and location tracking.

Note: Once you've completed the setup checklist, it will disappear.

2. Protection notifications under child

Bark lets you know if protection is at risk. "Fix it" notifications under your child’s name could mean:

  1. A device or account has been disrupted and needs to be reconnected.

  2. A device or account wasn't fully set up.

3. Monitoring

Check the status by tapping into your child's profile and then on Apps and Devices at the top.

  • Green checkmarks ✅ indicate that everything is working as expected when it comes to devices under your child's profile.

4. Screen Time & Web Filtering

Check the VPN or Bark Home filtering status (which are what help you block internet to apps and sites on your child's devices) by doing the following:

  1. On your parent app / dashboard, tap your child's profile.

  2. Tap Devices at the top.

  3. Tap your child's device.

  4. Scroll down to Status > Last seen to review the last time Bark was able to filter the internet to apps and sites on this device.

We’ll let you know when it’s been a while since we've heard from a device or platform. Device or Monitoring Protection Changed alerts will walk you through how to resolve the issue.
