Explore the Insights tile

With the Bark Premium and Bark Phone plans, you can get alerts about issues like bullying, depression, sexual content, and other insights into your kid's digital world. Just tap on Alerts in your parent app / dashboard.

On all plans, we also have the Insights tile on your Bark parent app / dashboard under each one of your kid's profiles:

A child profile with a cartoon avatar. Below it are 4 tiles with icons and labels. They are the Monitoring tile, the Screen Time tile, the Location tile, and the Insights tile.

Note: Home profiles, like Shared or Guest profiles, do not support the Insights tile at this time.

App use (Bark Phone only)

If your kid has a Bark Phone, you can see how much time they're spending on it each day and under which categories of app usage (e.g. Social Media, Education, Streaming Services).

Monitoring (Bark Premium and Bark Phone only)

Activities vs Alerts

Activities are the things that Bark monitors, like your kid's texts, photos, videos, social media messages, emails, etc. In this graph, you should expect there to be more activities than alerts, since not every thing your kid is up to is necessarily an issue that needs your review.

Top Contacts

If you've connected your kid's devices and accounts, the "All Activity" section will populate over the week with the contacts that have the most volume of activities with your kid. This could be email contacts, text message contacts, or even some social media contacts.

The "Alerts Only" section populates over the week with the contacts most involved in your kid's alerts.

Recently installed apps

If you've connected your kid's iPhone, Android, or Bark Phone to Bark, the Recently Installed Apps section shows you the installed and removed apps on your kid's device.

It will further highlight if there's an additional email or social media account you can connect for more monitoring coverage ("Connect to Bark"), or highlight an app you may want to talk to your child about (red exclamation mark). Bark also sends you alerts for Supported Apps and Risky Apps.

Apps with a green checkmark over the icon are already connected to Bark for additional coverage. You can also check what accounts you've connected to Bark under the Monitoring tile of your dashboard.

Conversation sentiment

If you've connected your kid's iPhone, Android, or Bark Phone to Bark and had enough text message activity over the last 2 weeks, the conversation sentiment section will populate with negative, positive, or neutral sentiment (learn more). It will also show the general volume of text messages over a given day and week.

Internet use

Sites analyzed vs Alerts

The graph shows the relationship between sites analyzed and alerts generated by Bark. The sites analyzed represent all web traffic through your child's device. Using the Bark Kids app, Bark inspects this traffic and blocks specific apps and sites based on the screen time rules you've set.

It's normal for the number of sites analyzed to exceed the number of alerts, as not every site your child visits will be an issue.

To avoid overwhelming you with notifications, Bark only sends alerts for blocked sexual content sites. Without this filter, screen time routines and schedules would generate thousands of alerts about blocked sites.

Recently blocked

This section shows you a snippet of the most recently blocked sites and apps. This can be helpful when troubleshooting an unexpected block (learn more).
