Your computer's firewall may be accidentally blocking the Bark Desktop App from doing its job.
Below are instructions on adjusting the built-in firewall settings on Windows and Mac.
If you have a third-party firewall, like Mcafee or Norton, consult their knowledge base for tips on allowing an app through their firewall.
Windows
-
Select the Start
menu, type Allow an app through Windows Firewall, and select it from the list of results.
-
Select Change settings. You might be asked for an administrator password or to confirm your choice.
-
To add Bark as an exception, select the checkboxes next to the Bark app in the list.
-
If you don't see Bark on the list, select Allow another app, find the Bark.exe file (usually easiest to find in your Desktop), and select it. Then, you can select the checkboxes next to Bark on the list. Make sure to save or apply your changes.
- Restart your computer.
Mac
- Open System Preferences
.
- Click the Security or Security & Privacy icon.
- Select the Firewall tab.
- Click the lock icon in the preference pane, then enter the administrator name and password.
- Click the Firewall Options button.
- Click the Add Application (+) button.
- Add Bark.
- Restart your computer.
What then?
After adding Bark as an exception to the firewall and restarting the computer, Bark should automatically retry the analysis.
